What Direct Primary Care means. Direct Primary Care, or DPC, is a membership model where patients pay their physician directly for primary care, without insurance in the middle of the visit. It's the model I practice and the one I advocate for: a physician and patient relationship without a middleman, and the autonomy for physicians to run their own practices. This box is for the DPC doctor who built one, the resident deciding whether to, or the patient who found one and wants to say thanks.
